The Rural Education Data Consortium brings together 23 Intermediate School Districts in support of timely access to relevant data for all educators. Longitudinal data warehouses will be established at each ISD. When implemented, every educator within the consortium will have access to relevant data to assist in the decision making processes related to curriculum, instruction and assessment. The consortium will utilize Data Director for data warehousing. In addition to the establishment of the data warehouses, there will be a robust professional development component for teachers, administrators and technology staff at the ISD and individual district level.
The focus of the project will be the establishment of a data warehouse in 19 ISDs that currently have none. Consortium partners will collaborate on data related enhancements.
In addition to the 23 ISD partners, there will be four universities involved in the project. These higher education institutions all have established teacher preparation programs and have a keen interest in the research potential the emerging data warehouses represent. The initial role of the university partners will be to work with K-12 educators on protocols for the sharing of data that will be relevant to educational research and respectful of teacher, student and district anonymity.
